Scout mounts to your bike utilizing your bottle cage braze-ons.
The standard distance between bottle cage screw threads is approximately 64mm.
Our security screw size is M5 x 20mm, which is also a standard size for most bikes.
We also have a slightly longer screw available as a part of our Scout spares pack - the screws included with this are M5 x 25mm and the spares pack can be found here.
Some E-bikes may require alternative length screws depending on battery and component placement and if this is the case you may need to utilize the bikes standard screws, or purchase an alternate security screw from a hardware store.
While we have tested the Scout security screws with a huge range of bottle cages, some cages may have a smaller recess for screw heads, and in this case you may need to use your standard screws or purchase a longer screw from a hardware store.
Currently we do not have any alternative mounting components for bikes without bottle cage braze ons and so you might need to get creative in this scenario!
